My Day At The Fancy Food Show

My wife moonlights as a caterer. As such, one of her favorite yearly activities is attending the Fancy Food Show in San Francisco. For three days, she lives and breathes confections like cheeses, chips, salsas, dark chocolate, jelly beans, coffees, teas, oils, cakes, spices, and whatever else you can think of. Each day, attendees are allowed to take home one large plastic bag of samples. Of course, everyone ignores that rule. Especially on the third and last day when the vendors give away their wares rather than take pack it back up and ship it home. Though some do donate to the local food bank. But it is on this last day that I attend. And today was that day. To the left, see some of the goodies we brought home...

Kachingle Launches

Kachingle launched this weeked, beta form. Still working out the kinks but it real, live and distributing money. I think it's a great concept, and am proud to be part of the team. Kachingle is going to be a game changer. It's the new model for free, we're saying, and it's true. Combining contributions, making it easy to distribute funds, comparing what you're giving with what others give...making it fun, like a game. These are the things that will make Kachingle the top choice for sites looking to monetize their content.

A post about biking

I went biking last week. Over the hill, down the other side, near the ocean and back again. I bonked. And fell off my bike as I tried to start in a high gear heading up a big grade. Embarrassing. But it was good to get out, 4 hours in all, about 50 miles. Slow and steady.

Life of a start-up

Sometimes things don't go right. The trick is to figure out what to do. Turning lemons into lemonade. Stay tuned.
